Oil Change in Stanford, KY

An oil change sounds simple — and when it's done right it is. The catch is that "done right" means the correct oil spec for your engine (not just the correct weight), a real OEM-equivalent filter (not a stamped-steel can of glue), and a torque wrench on the drain plug. We've pulled stripped plugs and crossed-threaded filter housings off cars that came from the quick-lube place. We don't do that.

We stock conventional, synthetic blend, full synthetic, high-mileage, and diesel oils and can match any OE specification on the label — API, ACEA, or manufacturer-specific (Dexos, BMW LL-01, MB 229, etc.). Filter comes from a major name, not the bulk bin. Plug torque goes to factory spec, with a new crush washer where the manufacturer calls for one.

Old-school service: we top off washer fluid, look underneath for leaks, and tell you honestly what we see. An oil change at a real shop is a free once-over on the rest of the car — not a 10-minute upsell.

Old Souls Garage handles oil change for drivers across Stanford, KY and all of Rockcastle County and the surrounding area. Call (606) 386-0997 and we'll give you honest numbers before you come in.

Common questions

Does it matter if I use full synthetic or conventional? +
Usually yes — modern engines increasingly require full synthetic, and using conventional in an engine that specs synthetic shortens oil life and sometimes engine life. We follow the spec on your oil cap.
How often should I change my oil? +
Depends on the oil, the engine, and the driving pattern. Most modern vehicles on full synthetic can safely run 5,000–7,500 miles. Older engines or severe-service driving may want shorter intervals. We give you an honest answer for your specific situation.
Do you do diesel oil changes? +
Yes — Power Stroke, Duramax, Cummins. Correct CK-4 oil, correct filter, proper torque. Diesel oil changes are pricier because of fluid volume and filter cost.
My oil pressure light came on — should I drive to you? +
No. Low oil pressure can ruin an engine in a couple of miles. Pull over, shut it off, and call us. We'll help you decide next steps — sometimes a tow is the cheapest option long-term.
Can you source the exact oil the dealer uses? +
Yes — we can source OE-spec oils (Toyota TGMO, Dexos, MB 229, BMW LL, etc.) when that's what your vehicle actually requires.
