Suspension Repair in Stanford, KY

A worn-out suspension doesn't feel dramatic until you drive a car that's fresh — and then you realize how long you've been putting up with a ride that bucks, a steering wheel that wanders, and parts that wear out faster than they should. Toyota master and ASE master certified — we put the car on the lift, shake every joint the way we were trained to, and find what's actually worn instead of guessing.

We handle the full suspension and steering system: shock and strut replacement (always in pairs per axle), upper and lower control arms, ball joints, tie rods, sway-bar links and bushings, strut mounts, and the odds and ends nobody else wants to chase. If it clunks, pops, shimmies at a certain speed, or parts are wearing funny — bring it in, we find it.

Old-school diagnosis on modern suspensions: dry-park-check the steering, pry the joints the way you're supposed to, road-test before and after. The kind of work a neighborhood shop used to do as a matter of course — because a real inspection catches what an eyeball misses, every time.

Old Souls Garage handles suspension repair for drivers across Stanford, KY and all of Rockcastle County and the surrounding area. Call (606) 386-0997 and we'll give you honest numbers before you come in.

    On the lift

Full suspension and steering inspection, road test, written quote. Nothing added later.

  3. 3
    Drive it home right

Common questions

How do I know if I need new shocks or struts? +
Bounce test is a start — push down on a corner and let go; it should settle in one and a half bounces. The real tells are nose-dive under braking, a bouncy highway ride, cupping wear at the wheel wells, and a rear end that kicks sideways on bumps. We verify on the lift before quoting.
What causes a clunk over bumps? +
Usually a worn sway-bar link or bushing — cheap and easy. Sometimes a strut mount, a ball joint, or a control-arm bushing. The point is to find which one, and the only way is on the lift with proper technique.
My tie rod end feels loose — can you replace it? +
Yes. Loose tie rods are a safety issue, full stop. We pry-check both inner and outer ends, replace what's worn, and torque to spec.
Will new shocks make my old car feel new again? +
If the ride degradation is coming from the shocks, absolutely — it's one of the most transformative repairs you can do. If the bushings and joints are also worn, we quote those together so you get the whole improvement at once.
Do you do ball joints and control arms? +
Yes — upper and lower, press-in and bolt-in. Proper pullers, correct torque on the castle nut and cotter pin, grease where required. We do them right.
